Robotic Gluing, Dispensing & Welding

Reduce waste and increase accuracy for gluing, dispensing, and welding tasks

A collaborative robot can add flexibility and efficiency to your gluing, dispensing, and welding processes in a wide range of applications, from sinks and windows, to machine and automobile parts. With repeatability of +/- 0.1 mm (.004 in), the Universal Robots (UR) arm is perfect for automating the quick and precise handling required in a range of dispensing applications. A collaborative robot arm can improve cycle time, reduce waste, and improve the quality and consistency of gluing processes by maintaining consistent pressure and dosing exactly the same quantity of glue.

Numerous types of welding are possible with collaborative UR cobots such as TIG, MIG, spot, arc, ultrasound, and plasma. By automating these processes, even small and mid-sized manufacturers can see reduced production downtime and less wasted material. For welding, dispensing, or painting applications we offer specialty jackets or sleeves to protect the robot arm from contamination or damage.

Lightweight and safe alongside human workers

Universal Robots are lightweight and easy to move to wherever you need application support. When your gluing or welding task is finished, you can repurpose and redeploy the robot to other areas in your production, with fast and easy programming. UR robots work safely alongside human workers (after risk assessment). If the robot comes into contact with a person, patented technology limits the forces at contact. UR robots can also be programmed to operate in reduced mode when a human enters the robot's work area and resume full speed when the person leaves.

Advantages of collaborative robots for gluing, dispensing, and welding applications

  • Increased quality, consistency, and output
  • Reduced waste
  • Lightweight and easily programmed for easy redeployment
  • Space-saving design for flexible, agile manufacturing processes
  • Safe for side-by-side human interaction with patented force-limiting technology
